Flashcat software

Am I doing something wrong or what, whenever I load the flashcat software it detects spi chip MX25L320 without issue, when I click on the spi tab and scroll through it shows what it should all the way through. When I click on the read button to save a copy it goes through the motions of reading and saving the flash, but when I open the file in a hex editor it is incomplete, it only has the data down to 00000f90 and then everything goes to 0's and after that f's.
What am I missing? I have resoldered countless times all with the same result.

What version of flashcat and software are you using ?

is a black flash usb programmer, software is build 345 although same results with build 330

As it is not a genuine flashcatusb , I cannot say what the issue could be as I do not have one of these devices , you may have to contact your seller and ask for advice. It could be a bug on there device.

Ok thanks. could you by chance tell me if these volt readings are in spec?



pin 5 = 3.10v
pin 7&8 = 2.34v
pin 1 = 3.18v

What AVR SPI firmware version did you flash to the blackflash?

BCUSB.3.01.SPI.hex the original kept giving usb power error.

Yea I have had the same problem too, hope to save some money and buy a v2.x to avoid this problem in the future

I dont know maybe its in the wiring still, when i check with meter at the pins from grd to pin 2 on programmer i see 3.10v when i check at the pins on the chip its 2.35

Switching jumper to 5v did the trick. Probably not the best option but it worked fine and i finally got this ata unlocked.
