I have a bunch of pic12f629 chips that I erased using a cheap k150 programmer about 10 years ago. I had no idea these chips have a factory osscal calibration value and when erasing the chip with that cheap programmer it erases those values. Would it be possible to use a flashcatusb classic to re-calibrate those factory osscal values? I read that the pickit2 has this ability, I just wanted to make sure the flashcatusb classic could or couldn't do this before buying a pickit2 just to fix 10 chips.

Sorry Ed, but FC is not designed for MCU programming. I believe PICKIT 4 is the tool you would use for that.

Hey thanks for the reply. From what I have read the pickit 2 does support re-calibration on this pic12f629. I haven't seen any other versions mentioned to do this. I'm not sure if newer versions of the pickit programmers added support for newer chips and changed voltages or the software to use them has changed and stopped supporting those older chips. So I'm thinking about ordering the pickit 2 just to be sure.
