I would also do as they suggest and put a resistor in between for protection, or better yet use external voltage as this may be much safer.Confirmed ISP points?;
-SB6121 ISP point = R153 right side
-SB6141 ISP point = pin2 on U7

Does the SB6141 have the same R362 ISP point as the SB6120 on the back board? Which script (*.bcs) is suitable for the software of BlackcatUSB?
ricktendo,Just do as we suggest, do not power on the modem and use external 3.3v... Or if you have board rev2.2 use the VCC to power the chip.
