Hello guys i have 3 types of bc ,the old serial one , the 16kb one was working fine with build 260 but switches broke off , so i tried the 32kb never worked cuz it came with build 271 and 281 beta so i tried the build 326 but cant see the 5100 tab as on the 16kb one with build 260 worked great until switches broke off ....any suggestions? thanx in advance...

Is the modem still in a working order ie. can you still access the 192 page , also can you post the output from the console tab .

ok thanx for the reply d3mon the modem is funtionng it has 1st light steady and second flashing (normal) i was able to access the motorola diagnostics page but there must be something wrong with the chip on modem because not even the old paralell port blackcat doesnt seem to recognize it with schwarze katze build 128 console page ends with "cannot find manufacrurer" (manu 7ff,part 7fff) then on 5100 tab if i try to check current firmware it says "please connect cable to device" even when cable is connected or reversed ,and when i try to read mac it says "Error! Device is not connected , however i tried another currenlty working modem connected it to the 32kb bc with build 326 and this one you see the 5100 tab but i cant seem to find access to the mac , heres the info when you click the 5100 tab:bootloader ,read ,write , then firmware currenlty installed : SB5100-2.3.2.7-SCM00-NOSH.bin ,save or change i dont see the mac or access to it , status page : blackcat usb staus :connected , blue and red lights on blackcat , device mode : enhanced jtag , board firmware ver.7.05 , connectd to device :broadcom 3348 , flash memory name : MXIC 29LV1618 , flash memory size: 2,097,152 bytes , active script :sb5100 , so it looks like it works exept for mac access...could i have a wrong setting or firmware? i never had this problem with the 16kb one...

here is what the 32kb bc has...were is the mac...

MAC read/write has been removed from newer software versions due to the fact it could implicate on TOS , your options on changing this will be to use either the old LPT software or very early versions of BCUSB software.

The device not being detected could be down to your JTAG connection , if soldered check your soldering also verify the pins with a multimeter on the device itself.

ok thankx , do you know or anyone know which version of sw/build i need to work on this 32kb board? sofar i know the build 260 that worked on my 16kb board before it broke , wont work with the 32kb one.....it says not connected. and the build 271 & 281 beta that came with 32kb board also says not connected.... i guess i will have to keep trying each version from after build 281 and on until i see one that has the tab and works... let me confirm wich firmware do you need to have to see the 5100 tab: is it the ejtag or the spi?...

The software will work on the 32K boards you just have to make sure you use the firmware that came with the specific build. The latest firmware 7.05 will not work on older builds hence you have to use the one in the folder of that release you wish to use.
The old 16K firmware will work on the 32K boards

ok i deleted the sb5100.bcs script from the build 326 and replaced it with the same name one from the build 260 folder and it still looks the same am i missing something , but heres the thing...i noticed the firmware on the build 326 heres what the build 326 folder has in the software folder there are three folders , in the firmware folder : bcusb.107.nand.hex , bc.3.04.spi.hex , bcusb.7.05.06.ejtag_16k.hex , bcusb.7.05.ejtag_32k.hex but in the build 260 it has 2 firmware folders one for 5100 and one for 5101 ,the 5100 frimware folder contains the following folders : bootloader , fercsa stealth 13.5(x2) , sb5100 flash dumps , sb5100mod.1.0.4 beta , sigma x2 build 142 rc3 stable-complete , sigma-x2 140 rc3 , sigma-x2 142 beta , sigma-x 1.06 rc4 ... do i put one of these folders or its contents from build 260 into the build 326 firmware folder? thanx....

You would have to use the old software as well , like i said before the code for MAC swap was removed from newer builds , it is not just the script itself that allows that.
I do not know where you got that Build326 release from , but we do not release any BCUSB build with Modem firmware files , there is only a bootloader folder with 2 bootloaders , 1 for 3348 and the other for 3349.
What you are looking for is the BCUSB firmware itself similar to bcusb.7.05.06.ejtag_16k.hex , but a lesser build.

Correct Start with 5.02 and use the software that came with that build .
