forceware on a wbm760a

looking for some help....

i have a arris wbm760a modem and i was trying to flash forceware to it, it is a 8 meg backup dump that i get from it with my bcusb and the forceware flash is only like 3 megs, is there a certain script i am supposed to use when writing the forceware image to it?

i also read of people flashing it to a 6120 then writing forceware to it, the only issue i see with doing that is that my isp doesn't use a 6120 modem, the only thing that they use now is a sbg6580 that isn't able to have forceware written to it

any ideas?

I am not familiar with the layout of that device , send me a full dump in a PM and i will see what i can do

Ok got it , i have deleted it from the thread in case it contains your mac etc.
Let me have a look at it and i will post back soon.

Looking at the flash layout it is similar to a 6120 or vmg300 , so you should be able to load the 612o script or the 300 script and be able to write the firmware to it on the correct tabs

is that the script that gives you the option of writing it to ubf1 or 2?

been a while since i messed with modems but it doesn't matter which one you write the file to does it?

i have found a script, loaded it, wrote the file forceWare_UBFI-v1.2-PUBBETA1.bin to the modem, restarted it, connected to internet, modem locks on but when i try to log into it to change settings it just logs into the stock modem page for the modem.

also the modem still seems to have working 40/4 meg internet from the last person that had it although i doubt it will work for long as he shut his services off with the isp

Which script did you load , could be your device has booted the other image

That script should work , you could also try the vmg300 script
