so here is my dilemma, i am trying to get a modem successfully running on docsis 3 since our local cable isp has recently switched to it. we used to use sb5100/5101's, went to arris wbm760a's and now we only use sbg6580's.
i know forceware cannot be used on the 6580's as they do not have puma chipsets in them, i have tried cloning them which does work but i get a like daily disconnects, all computers on the network lose ip and i have to unplug modem to get it working again.
i got a spare wbm760a here, i got forceware on it but can't seem to get any thing to work on it, the modem and tuner dropdown menus don't have my modems in it so i am assuming that is why i cannot get it to work.
if my isp only uses sbg6580's is it possible for me to lets say buy a premodded 6120 and get it working on my network
thoughts and ideas?
