TIAO CoolRunner ii

Hi

I'm new to the forum, bought a blackcat usb a couple years ago when the ps3 was 1st jb and we were able to use the blackcat as a dongle, then we moved on to cfw and blackcat gathered dust,

i recently found out i could use the blackcat to flash cpld for the rgh on the 360
so i figured most of it out (got the blackcat flashed as a jtag, found out the pinout and all,
what i'm stumped on is what software do i use to flash it and how
is there a tut somewere or someone knows how

Thanks

Flash your BCUSB with the 3.05_SPI firmware in the software pack . Once you connect your BCUSB to the coolrunner , it should auto detect it and preload the Xilinx script.
Once you have a detection you need to flash the relevant .xsvf file for your rgh box .
BCUSB software is available in the software section of the forum, latest build is 330.
The relevant .xsvf files can be found elsewhere if you search for the jrunner app from TX it will have all the needed .xsvf files.

Got it detected,

i can read it , but when i select write, i select the jasper.xsvf (after selecting to see all files) and it just hangs there and doesn't write it
do i need to rename the .xsvf to .bin ?

Apologies ,, did you flash the BCUSB with the ejtag 7.05 hex file , in my previous post i said the SPI which is incorrect ?
Also when the Xilinx script loaded did you click on the run XSVF file ?

I did as your 1st post indicated, except i used the 3.04 spi cuz i didn't find the 3.05 but it detected (says connected to device: spi compatible device (nordic spi port)

i had it flash with ejatg 7.05 before and could not the xilinx detected and when i used spi it detected it ...

could it be because i use the mini usb to power the chip ? and only have 4 wire going to the coolrunner ( tdi, tdo, tms, tck)?

will reflash to ejtag 7.05 and retry

thanks for your help!

No it needs to be in EJTAG mode , as the nordic is another device.
There shouldn't be an issue with powering the chip with an alternate power source , however you could connect to the VCC on BCUSB , there was an alternate pin activated for this,

back to ejtag 7.05, not detected....

not sure what i'm doing wrong...
will make a couple more wires to connect vcc on the bcusb, maybe that will help

i looked at the pics in the other thread and i guess once it gets detected it's pretty simple

are the wire length critical for detection ? i used the 4 wires that came with the chip simce they have female connectors on both ends, but they are about 12inchs long, could that be the problem ?
thinking no because it was getting detected with spi...

also i got bcusb 226, the only 330 i saw is fcusb, which looks the same ...

The wires should be short , but to be honest i think that length you have now will suffice.
Try the extra VCC pin on the BCUSB it may help , make sure you enable the VCC pin in the drop down Settings tab.

me too :)
got miss lead on the vendor site were they show a jumper position to use for usb power but that didn't work,
but once powered with header from bcusb, works like a charm

hi guys i have the ejtag pinout but i want to know which pins are the extra vcc and ground i hope you can help me thanx

Pin 8 at the back was the extra vcc pin , once enabled in the settings tab , the others 2,4,6,10 are all GND.
